I'm not a huge fan of resolutions. But one recent trend that I can get on board with is a word of the year. Basically, the idea is that you choose a word that you want to shape or define your actions and thoughts for the coming year.

The word I've chosen for 2018? You guessed it: balance.

In recent months, "balance" has come to mean so many different things to me. It's the ability to juggle all of my myriad responsibilities so that each gets my best self. It's physical balance - returning to exercise and activities that bring me joy and keep my body working at its best. It's financial balance - our budgeting goals and priorities shift, and we need to continue balance those wants and needs. And of course, mental balance - managing my anxiety and ensuring that I'm nurturing my soul and mind.

This brings me to some big changes planned for Amanda Wose Photography in 2018.

First, all consultations shall occur by phone or Skype, with galleries delivered via online gallery as opposed to in-person meetings. I'll be honest - this is not my preferred business method. I take great pride in printing your images and being by your side when you see the images for the first time. But as the studio gets busier, my time is becoming scarce, and this is the best way to make it work for now.  Studio appointments will be available upon request to design wall art galleries and albums.

Second, just five portrait commissions will be accepted per month. This ensures that each client receives the high level of service and imagery you've come to expect from AWP, while allowing me sufficient time for my family and other priorities. Head here to view 2018 collections and pricing.

I am fully booked for December and January, with just one appointment remaining for February. If you're expecting a spring baby or dreaming of a springtime portrait session, now is the time to book in. I fully expect a 3-6 month wait list for portrait sessions in 2018.

Thank you for your continued support! I look forward to creating beautiful portraits together in the coming year!
